hello all. I have fitted a t56 magnum in my 79 trans am I now need a propshaft. where would I measure from for a custom made one and how far does the yoke stick out from the t56. thanks kev

Hi Kev,
Slide the trans yoke all the way into the trans then pull it out about an inch. That will give it plenty of room to move with the rear suspension. measure from center to center of the u-joints.

Tremec makes a nice little app once you have it installed, uses your phone amd it will tell you if your driveline angle is good to go

IMO, 1" is excessive yoke clearance, 1/2" is more than sufficient for a street driven car.

True, BUT, I find it easier to install and pull the drive shaft when there is room to move the shaft forward after removing the rear u-joint strap or girdle. 1" works pretty well. :)
