Does anyone know how the torque specs for the oil filter adapter on the Autokraft pan? I'm trying to tighten up all the little bugs and I'm seeing some oil on the sides of the filter and I believe it may be weeping from this area. Champ Racing which makes the pans said 40ft lbs.
I have an Improved Racing oil cooler adapter also which may have a weep due to it being a metal on metal connection with no gasket. I know this is 10ft lbs, I'm going to reconnect with a little gasket maker just for peace of mind.

Both the oil filter adapter and oil cooler adapter are o-ring seal so they shouldn't require any gasket sealer, if it's not sealing you need to replace the o-rings and I would use a viton o-ring since they are rated for higher temps. 40 lb/ft seems like way too much torque for any of those fasteners. The oil cooler adapter should be 89 inch pounds, I don't recall what size the bolts are for the oil filter adapter but my guess is they're 8mm which would require 18 lb/ft.

It's a new setup, so the o-rings would have been good I imagine? Yeah, the torque on the cooler adapter is 9-10lbs per Improved racing. Closer look shows the weep was from the oil filter adapter that attaches to the pan. I was sure I torqued the pan to spec. I'll replace the o-rings there and retorque.

Thanks....

I have the same setup (autokraft pan, adapter and improved racing cooler adapter and have fought leaks from the start. The stock orings got hard and brittle very quickly so I replaced them with viton (pain because I have to pull the driver's side header to access). It was leak free for a while then I had to partially drop the pan to replace the oil pump and now it's back to leaking...doh!

That's not very encouraging...lol I already loosened my header for that purpose, so i might as well replace the o-rings in filter adapter and the cooler adapter.

Thanks for the heads up Gary
