yeah I did a few searches & didn't come up with a lot....
for you auto-x ers & track day people, what mods have you done to your sbc's oil pans to prevent starvation? what kinda windage tray to you add?
I am thinking that if I take a circle track pan & change the trap doors so that one works left & one works right I should be ok. I have a weird gm crate engine that has dipstick humps on both sides so I only have one chance at this without spending a bunch of money, which I don't have.
I can't afford a accusump or drysump for this low dollar deal
thanks

Just get a good road race oil pan...

Canton (https://www.cantonracingproducts.com/category/1501/Chevy-SS--Road-Race-Oil-Pans/2.html), Milodon (http://www.milodon.com/oil-pans/road-race-oil-pans.asp),
Moroso (http://www.shopmoroso.com/eb/catalog/navigationPath/1::Moroso%20Performance%20Products/1100001::Oil%20Pans/11001::Chevy%20Small%20Block/1103::Road%20Racing?resetOffset=true&entryId=catalog.productgroup.11100001110011103&expand=true&menuId=main.menu), to name a few.

Just find the part number that suits your needs and budget. Then get an Accusump (http://www.accusump.com/) to compliment the pan.

Some of the circle track "claimer" pans actually have decent baffles in them just need to see what the doors look like which is hard as not shown in catalogs.

For my Pontiac the Canton has much better baffling and tray than my Milodon road race pan.

Check the Canton pan. I had one for my BBO, nice piece.

I use a Milodon 7 quart Road Race oil pan with a Moroso windage tray. There are others that work as well .

I also just went with a deep sump good quality pan for racing and windage tray. I've also read where some folks run a bit over full to account for oil starvation

And ideas for those of us running oddball engines? That were never even imagined to produce over 120hp or turn more than .4-.5 g? In my case an economy car engine producd from1959-83.

i used a CHAMP PAN cp60ltrb on my 87 monte, 8 quart, but i only use 7qt on the street(5 qt is stock). there are trap doors, louvers, windage, and very well made. a lot of the circle track and road racers use champ. they have some claimer pans that are very reasonable price, and they look good. this pan was for road racing. champ
