A friend has a 1970 Ford Maverick he wants to set up as a pro touring car. He's thinking Coyote engine and hanging corners at good guys events etc. Does anyone make Maverick pro touring parts? Do mavericks share chassis equipment with Mustangs or anything else popular?

The Maverick engine bay is pretty tight, like the late 60's Mustang with intruding strut pockets.
If you have to have the Coyote, it seems like you would have to replace the front suspension for an A-arm design.
After that, a Coyote engine 'may' fit, but it would still be tight, and probably a PITA to work on.
I'm not sure on the exact dimensions, but 2" may be a big deal.

Here are some other member's builds: (in no particular order)

Here is a 67 Cougar with a Coyote swap, probably very similar issues to tackle

As Pinto said, whats his budget, and level of mechanical skills?
Beefing up the suspension, brakes, and running a regular small block could get him out on the track sooner than the coyote swap.

I would contact Mike Maier about the suspension https://mikemaierinc.com/

Here is my Maverick build thread. Really regretting not getting a Coyote engine for it. When I was planning on engine/trans they weren't as prevalent and talked about like they are now. At this point I am so far into the drivetrain in my car dollar wise it would be too costly of a loss to change directions. My engine trans package has been bought and paid for for a few years now. Oh well.

Here is what I have done to my car...........

a 347 stroker with efi would be a better choice to me
