Ever since I was a kid I always wanted a 57 BelAir,had a lot of nice cars in my young life(33) but never a trifive.Well some events happend, stars aligned, lots of hard work and sold a few things to clear up funds and loaded up the trailer and drove down to the Daytona Beach area and finally picked up a red 2 door 57!Its a nice car but nowhere near perfect, its what I would call a driver quality car but I plan to change it up quite a bit however keep it real world and not break the bank on it.It would be great to go buy a custom frame along with a new LSA crate motor and all kinds of high end parts but thats just not in the cards right now.I wanna keep it simple but custom, but a car anybody can build in there garage at home and DRIVE THE HELL OUT OF IT.No trailer queen or garage ornament here, just a nice low custom tri five me and the family can drive anywhere at anytime when im not out of town racing somewhere.Anyway here are the pics from the day i went and picked it up133452133453133454

And now you want to trade it for a 69 Camaro? Really?

You will enjoy cruising in your '57, it's a real buzz tooling around in these '50's classics.

Thought the same thing :) However, I can understand wanting one of all the cars I've ever wanted.

we did change things up a little bit on it,the stock suspension and brakes sucked so i wanted to update the brakes on it.I ordered a power brake kit from CPP(again not mega high dollar stuff)and got everything, brake booster, calipers, cross drilled rotors, braided brake lines, hardware etc etc.I also took this opportunity to go ahead and lower the ride height on it as I think tri fives just look so much better lower to earth.

for the rear, again nothing fancy, new drop leaf springs from Danchuk along with Energy Suspension bushings in them to bring the back down also to match the front.I didnt want much of a rake on my car so i went with a 3 inch drop spring with the 2 inch front spindles

After it was all said and done we added new 18&20 inch rev classics to it and here is how she sits now.I still think i may trim the front springs down just a small notch but overall i like the way it looks for now(air ride may be in my near future) and i will say it drives, handles, and stops so much better now then it did before
