i had no luck with setting toe off the tires, so i came up with this tool that i use bungee cords to hook to rims, take about five minutes for me to hook it up by myself. use the same tape measures so they will be the same weight, i usually set both at 82" so they both hang the same, will vary on how you make your tool. while you are at it cheek you rims for runout in case one of them is bent, bad numbers if you have a bent rim. living in michigan i check my often, we have big pot holes. use level on both sides, they only cost a couple dollars, you have to be level. all four tires are sitting on 6x6s so i have the same height.

my next article will show how i use lasers attached to the same tool to check my ackermann, cost me about 50.00. to buy the real tool runs about 500.00, i am retired and do not have a lot of money.133056133057133058133059

I did something a little different. Used strong magnets (only works if running a steel wheel) to attach the jig to the rims and mounted small wattage (so you don't burn your retinas) lasers to the jig. You must calibrate it so the projected laser beams are parallel with the jig for it to be accurate.

A word of warning: you can do real, permanent, damage to your eyes or someone else's eyes with lasers so do your homework and educate yourself on safety.

Just my version...133076
