View Full Version : 2" or 3" sanding discs...which do you prefer?

There are a bunch of options on 2 or 3" sanding discs. Norton, 3M, off brand, etc. I need to clean up some welds and grind down some metal tabs in a spot that is hard to get to. A local paint shop only had 3" 3M Roloc green discs for $50. I wasn't sure what I needed and they weren't very helpful. What are you guys using and where are you getting them from? Thanks.

I buy 3M 36 and 50 grit 3" green Roloc discs on eBay. You can usually find a pretty good deal. Same for the backing pads.

For grinding butt welds etc I save a lot of money on Rolocs by using one of these to do the initial grinding:
