Folks,

Driving my car a lot, I have noticed straight line performance is bad. I have the DSE set-up (their stock coils) 335 rival s tires, 3.89 gears, t56 magnum...tru-trac

Doesnt matter which gear I'm in, if I'm in the powerband of my engine and gun it, the car's rear kicks out. I can't even mash the gas without siding the rearend out.

What at could be wrong? Do I need higher rate springs?

Sounds like a good problem to have if you ask me lol

Do you have adjustable shocks?

Maybe you need some Ron Sutton secret sauce...

Are the rear wheels "square" with the front wheels ?

Yes, I have their single adjustable

Have you tried adjusting both the front and rear shocks?

What tire pressure are you running?

My Shelby GT500 had the same issue until I put on Rear adjustable upper and lower arms, panard bar and lower rate springs with double adjustable shocks. Now it powers from a stop straight as an arrow and the rear wont swing to the left like it did prior. My bet is the rear is slightly angled or the pinion angle is off making the rear kick over to one side. is it always the same direction?

Did firestone give you a print out of the alignment? What was the thrust angle?

Mine hooks hard. Doesn't kick out at all unless I'm going around a turn and mash it but it's a controlled kick out. Air pressure is 32 psi

Does it always go to the same side?
Check your end link bushings & forward mounts.

Like others have said, check the rear end and make sure it is square with the chassis. Also, a softer compression on the shocks will allow more weight transfer which in turn will plant the rear tires.

Spinning 335 rival no matter which gear. Must be making some power there.

3.89 is a pretty numerically high gear ratio. It is magnified in power if you're also using a wide ratio transmission. My questions out of curiosity would be what's the gear spread in your T56 and how much power are we talking?

The engine produces 530hp. It's the magnum with the .64 6th gear, it's not the one with the deep first and .50 6th

530 at the flywheel or the tires? And VVV

It's at the crank, but breaks the tires loose very easily which is what's causing it to slide out.

you need to scale the car and set the corner weights.

the preload is off and there is more weight on one side than the other so that side pushes harder an pushes the car sideways

about the same combo as my Nova (mine made 520 to the rear wheels) had but I was running 315 Falkens and it would burn them in 2nd gear but you could not get it to spin in 3rd and it would go poker straight!! it is all about the balance an corner weights
