I'm considering making my own and have been searching for a few days.

Tilton makes a nice 900 series unit and wildwood has the tru-bar. these options are great but all to expensive or invasive to my project car's intent.

I'm toying with the idea of cutting down and threading a 1000 series u-joint and milling down a block of aluminum. http://www.northerndrivetrain.com/product/NEA-1-0172.html

Thoughts, ideas, pics???? I'm just looking to brainstorm a little.

Thanks for the link Andrew but those are not trunnion style, which is what I am after.

Then I'm confused. What's a trunnion style?

The CNC setup I posted has a balance bar. Is that different than a trunnion setup?

a trunnion setup is also a balance bar but it takes the "slop" out of a conventional setup and is the "latest and greatest" bias brake tech.

here is what the balance bar in a CNC setup uses
