Gold Canton parts

Anybody know how well the gold iridited tone on canton oil pans holds up? I'm trying to decide to paint it or leave it alone. I doubt a clear coat would hold up well. I'm assuming I should paint it.

I have a Canton zinc pan and I will say it has held up well. Not perfect by any means, but it still looks nice after a little over a year.

I had one for years. The finish holds up really well.
