Hey all new to this site but looking some input on who I can trust and somewhat affordable to mini tub my camaro near me? I'm definitely willing to travel a few hours just need a point in the right direction.I'm in wv and we have a couple collision repair shops but not too many custom shops so any help or recommendations would be appreciated please!

affordable, mini tub

tough to see those words together the tubs are only 300-400 but the install will be roughly 1500-3000 about 40 hours billed without any paint work

The DSE mini tubs come with great templates and better directions than just a year ago, with a little patience I was able to do mine in the garage in about 50 hours or so with the old instructions and the $2500 saved doing it myself paid for the 120V mig welder, the tubs, steel and other clamps and such with money left over. I am not a great welder, but boy has my grinding skills improved.

The labor intensive part is removing interior, scraping seam sealer out, and re-installing interior. Cutting out the tubs and welding in the new ones does not take that long. If take a car to an installer with interior removed, metal all cleaned up ready for work to begin, I would question anyone who took more then 2 work shifts

This sounds about right. I just mini tubbed my '55 Chevy and it went pretty easy. It was also my first "major" sheet metal project.

Its not all that hard to do. If you check my build in the projects section you can see how I did my '67 Camaro mini-tubs at home. If your not totally comfortable doing them yourself but need to budget for this I would recommend you hire someone to come to your place, assuming you have a garage, and help you with the difficult parts you are not able to do. In all it is a pretty straight forward project.

Are you guys using a 120v welder to weld the steel closeouts to the the frame?

Yes, I did. I have a Lincoln 140 (120v), didn't have any problem welding the closeouts.

Yes, I used a hobart handler 140. Plenty of juice for the frame closeouts

We might be a little further away than your willing to travel. But we would be happy to do the install for you.

We did a home tub job on my 67 Firebird, used new stock outer wheels and cut out the inners, filled with some formed sheet metal. Ended up allowing up to 15" wide rims. These are 325/30/19 on 19x11's... took maybe 4 hours. used a Hobart 180 w/gas
