Double hook vs. single loop brake booster rod?

Is there any reason I need to use a double hook style brake rod? I bought a C6 brake booster and DSE brake booster brackets, the length is exactly the same as the 67-69 f-body. It bolts up just fine, with a washer on the other side of the brake pedal to keep things firm. The only difference is the C6 booster has a single hook design. I'm thinking it might throw the booster rod off center a bit and bind?

Scratch that. Fits, but puts the brake pedal sky high. Threading the booster rod.
