Anyone slotted their upper control arm shafts on a first gen f-body? I had the idea when i maxed out rear shims to the point of binding while setting up my Firebird (have had the front end apart for a few weeks rebuilding front suspension).

FWIW, my current setup:

Stock control arms
Proforged tall ball upper ball joints
Proforged tall outer tie rod ends
CPP C5 spindles (stock geometry)
Moog problem solver offset control arm shafts
Cut moog springs (Probably going to end up running the Ridetech street grip springs)

My thinking here was to use the moog offset control arms to dial in as much positive camber as possible, then shim the rear bolts to get to 5 degrees caster. Currently I can only get three 1/8" shims on the rear bolts (currently have none in front, will adjust for camber if necessary after getting springs in and the car rolling). I see some of the C3 guys over on corvetteforum have done this and seem to like the results.

Am I asking for trouble in doing this?

Picture below is from a C3, same idea of what I am planning to do:

I think that's a great idea... I'd run them back even further.. You'll have to make inserts.. Checkout Detroit Speed upper control arms..
