A little background. cpp tubular suspension front to rear. drop spindles and qa1 coilovers in the front. rear lowering springs. running a 18x8 in the front and a 20x10 in the rear. I am looking to run Potenza RE-71's especially since they go up to a 20. I know there are some do's and don'ts in regards to staggered wheels and keeping sidewalls close/slightly staggered. I would appreciate it if one of you would look at the sizes and get me close as well as speaking out in regards to advice. I've put way to much money/time into this car to mess up on the stance. thanks.

Do you already have the wheels?

yes, I have a set of Riddlers. This car is a protouring car, but it won't be an autocross car. Just a cruiser with a lot more power than it rolled off the assembly line with.

I think you are going through what I have / am going through trying to pick tire sizes to keep them looking symmetrical if you will haha. Anyways here is a link to a google drive excel sheet that I use to check gearing and overall tire diameters for sizing. The cells that are green is where you will enter the data that you want.

There is 4 identical blocks of information...why? Because I wanted to compared between the T56 Magnum close and wide ration on different sizes of tires for front and rear....the top two are a close ration t56 magnum, bottom two are wide ratio.

The bottom section of each of the 4 blocks is where you will put in your information on what tires you think you want to run, the width, Aspect ratio and diameter this will give you overall diameter , width and sidewall height.

Here is a link to excel sheet to download. After the link opens just click download icon in the top right...

Hope it helps....as an added bonus you can figure out what speed you are going with a certain rear gear with the chart as well....any questions let me know!

Mine is a 61 Buick, but still a similar full size. It runs 18x7 on front and 20x8 on rear. It's on bags, but what I believe you are looking at is sidewall.

8" rims Vs 10" rims won't be hugely different in sidewall unless you want them to be.

Having said that I also don't mind staggered sidewall. I did that on my Camaro. It runs 17x7 n front, low profile sidewall and 17x12 on rear with drag radials with intentionally larger sidewalk. 390x40

Just go with the stance you love.

If you can fit a 315/35r20 out back, there are a ton of options for that tire size. It also is about 28.7" tall so your sidewall dimensions won't be all that off with a 26" front tire.
