Hey everyone, I have a 72 chevelle and was thinking of shaving the drip rails. Has anyone done this? Could you tell me whats involved, besides a little welding. Anything I should pay close attention too?
Thanks in advance,
John

thanks ralph-

So what I gather, The best way to do this is to do small sections at at time, maybe four inches or so, and tack weld it together, until you have the whole side done, Then go back and just tack the whole thing up, working from end to end so not to distort the metal? Sound right?

John,

That's how I did it. It will take you a weekend or so. Watch out during grinding that you don't generate too much heat, and keep an eye out for the original lead in the sail to roof seam.

i shaved them off of a 70 charger and just took my time lil spotwelds till i got the whole thing welded up then grind and filed the biggest thing make sure you get the line straight before priming use your eyes to look down the roof panel
