So I have a 85 c10 and I am in the process of phase one of my build I guess. As of right now I have the bed and front clip off while building the engine and doing so rust repair. While it is disassembled I want to add some stronger cross members and possible some cross bracing across the frame between the leaf springs. This brings me to my question I know that triangles are known to be the strongest shape. A X-shaped brace causes conflict with my diff. Then again a A-shaped brace works, but I'm concerned it wont be as strong as the X-shaped brace.

I've heard the 70's C10's will crack the frame around the steering box bolts if offset wheels are used. I'd beef that area up.

The old Chevy Power manual had some pretty specific directions on how to beef up the Corvette frame used from 63-82 for racing. Entirely different car, but the manual is easily found online and might provide some inspiration for your project.
