Ill bite....although my collection is not nearly as exciting as yours....

Wife's daily driver: 2009 Mini Cooper S w/ a few upgrades
My daily driver: 2016 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro
Family "Hot Rod": 1972 C20 Suburban w/ 6.0L LS and 4L65E....was carb'd and Im in the middle of swapping over to Holley's Terminator TBI

I've started looking for my next project but I keep flopping back and forth about what I want to build...

My first thought is a '64 Corvette coupe with full Ride Tech suspension and an L33 5.3L LS with STG 2 TEA heads and a cam and valve train that will support 7000 RPM. Id combine that with a TKO600 and 4.10 rear to get the smaller motor into its power band quickly and negate the lack of low end torque when compared to some of the bigger LS motors. Id run 9 inch wide wheels at all 4 corners with 275 tires for a balanced set up. No intent of racing, just a fun backroads driver.

Second idea is a '67 base model Camaro. Super bare bones....no console, no spoiler, no trim, minimalist interior. LS3 with a cam change and TKO600. Ride Tech suspension....again, simple, backroads driver.

Third idea is more of a cruiser...'66-'67 Chevelle or Skylark with some basic suspension (Ride Tech street grip), disc brakes, 15' wheels, ZZ427 crate engine with T56 6 speed. Still fun on the back roads, but more of a "load everyone up and go on power tour" kind of ride.

I think my preference would be the '64 Vette, since the C20 Suburban is already the perfect road trip hot rod but I think the initial cost of a '64 that doesn't need paint/bodywork may be prohibitively expensive.

Are you looking to buy or build the next toy?

I'm selling down as I get older, next ones to go will be the Twin cam Nova, and either the Camaro or Porsche. Probably won't buy any more toys, just replace tow vehicle as needed.

Current fleet
66 Mustang coupe red
67 Camaro RS SS vert red (yes it's real)
70 Firebird TA clone red
81 Malibu yellow
86 Carrera Cabrio ROW widebody red
88 Nova Twin Cam black
00 F350 dually white/gold

The 64 Vette is kind of the stepchild in the C2 realm, so should be able to find a nice one for $40k or so.

I've got a 63 split window that's stock. Bought it to do a restomod but it was too original to tear into so I wound up going the restoration route on this one.

A 64 Lemans that I'm currently working on was originally a 6 cylinder / powerglide, has been pulled and a LS1 and 4L60e stuffed in, Quick Performance 9", Wilwood's all the way around. It's also Pro Charged, has Dakota Digital VHX gauges.

A 66 Buick Skylark that was my first LS conversion.

I also have a 69 Camaro that I'm tubbing, doing the full RideTech coil over, TruTurn set up with and a 60 Biscayne that's bagged - more of a cruiser. A 56 Nomad and a 72 Cheyenne Super

Steve,

Your Skylark is what got me into the 66-67 A Bodies....love that car! That '63 Split Window is definitely sharp! I realize Im in the minority, but I actually prefer the '64...I like the way the hood scallops match the sides scallops as opposed to the grates on the '63s hood. I'd be ecstatic if I could find a nice one in the 40's.....so far, anything I've found with driver quality paint/trim/interior and a verifiably good bird cage and frame has been around 55. If you stumble on something reasonable, please let me know....especially if its the Navy blue on either blue or black interior!

A friend and I recently asked ourselves the question, "if you could only have six cars, and money was no concern, what would you have?" My answer:

New truck
Whatever the wife wants to drive
Singer 911
1st gen NSX
The 1968 GTO I have now
some convertible that would be welcome at any road rally in the world (think MM or Colorado Grand)

That said, looking at your list of cars and assuming you want something different rather than more of the same, I would be looking for a big drop top (think 1964 continental), a momentum type sports car (maybe elan or elise), or something that is recently legal to import (skyline, E30 wagon, older EVO, etc.).

Ah yes, the top 6 game....a favorite while garage drinking after the hard work is done!

In no particular order:

1. Whatever the wife wanted as a daily driver....probably a 4Runner
2. 1964 Corvette, stock exterior, British Racing Green, Mast Motorsports 388 cu in destroked LS7, SRIII frame with C6 suspension
3. Singer 1911
4. Drop my 1972 C20 Suburban off at ICON for the full treatment as seen on their FJs and Broncos
5. 4 Door Power Wagon from Legacy Power Wagon
6. Whatever the wife wanted as a "fun car"....probably a 1969 Camaro SS convertible, automatic, blue with white stripes, disc brakes, A/C

Here's a link to a great thread over on the corvette forum. A guy has taken on the task of posting cars that are on the lower end of the scale. The thread is long a pretty old, so go to the end for the current stuff.

Seems I specialize in C2s but not stock ones with 2 Running Restomods, one of which is more of a Pro Touring build which rather than wheel well or fender flares is body flared to provide tire cover as well as more for a more Subtle look yet almost every body panel on car has been modified.

1st one is a 66, stock bodied.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/01/P8310256-1.jpg (http://s258.photobucket.com/user/jere-64/media/P8310256.jpg.html)

Body Flared 64 C2 for more of a ProTouring touring look. 360 RWHP, 3.54 Rear gear, 300 Treadwear street tires. Car is 400 lbs heavier than a stock 64 C2 3125lb curb weight Coupe yet can still run 11.7s even with a 1.91 60' time, 117 - 120 MPH in 1/4 & Can't even spin street tires on a prepped track as 52% of weight is on rear tires & Lh to Rh is within 10 lbs of each other with me in car.

Build thread on this one can be found here.

https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/68786-My-64-Corvette-Pro-Tour-build-Long-view-of-how-car-eveolved-into-what-it-is-today?highlight=

Current build is another 64 C2 Coupe with 2.5" body flared fenders. It is a Weight to HP build rather than a HP to Weight one. HP is fixed at around 400 RWHP, hope to cut weight of car to point I an get it in 10s in 1/4 with same 3.54 rear gear and 300 Treadwear tires. This one is Male bodied were other one is Female, and every body panel on this one has been modified in some way. The front end had to be widen 2.0", 1.0" on each side to try and get the male look of stock body C2. How it's being built can be found by searching on 1964 corvette Jimmy Joe.

Also have a 1986 Chevy El Camino, Choo Choo Custom that I was given by the son of the original owner, when his father passed away last year.

I'm not into stock bodied cars sitting in a Garage. We modified these cars back in 60s when I was young, an I modify them today when I'm old. Seen one stock body, you've them all, just different colors. There is noting out there built like the 2 coupes. They may be ugly, but they are my ugly....LOL I'm not a Pied Piper type follower, I play the pipe...LOL

Daily driver is 2011 Hyundia...LOL

I'm looking to build a 67-80 C10 next. It won't be as fancy as my recent '69 Camaro, as I'd want the option to daily drive it and tow/haul with it. I also am looking forward to ordering a new '17 ZL1 Camaro, and '17 Viper ACR. That Skylark above is another I'd like to build, as I love the 66-67 Chevelle but would want something different like that. Seems like the Skylark would have a difficult time finding interior/trim/body parts, wouldn't it?

Current cars:

'14 Camaro SS 1LE

'70 Chevelle SS 454

1999 Suburban, 1998 and 1996 Nissan Sentras, all stock dailies, and a 2016 Infinity QX70. Toys are a 1978 Chevy LUV back halved drag truck, a just fired 1976 LUV street truck (both step sides, with small block v8 chevy power), a 1989 Nissan D21 (Hardbody) single cab truck with a 350 vortec, with tbi injection, that will be a stepside eventually. I have a 1963 4 door hard top Impala I have no idea if it will be added to the stable yet, and the car that brought me to this site. A 1967 Chevelle Malibu that is currently in pieces, I am doing an LS conversion to. 6.0 engine I have, haven't decided on the manual trans yet, Custom 9 inch rear, Viking coil overs installed on all 4 corners, UMI suspension is in, 2000 Camaro disc brakes all around, so far. I work 26-28 days a month, so I am not as far along as I would like to be with any of them...

I drive an 89 Supra, and the wife drives a 98 Grand Cherokee. Getting the entire suspension redone in the next week, and stacking away for an Ls swap.

Gary, and Tess have quite a few more cars. They have a 1940 Ford Coupe, and another 34 I think is the year. Gary's building the 40 from the ground up. Other than that, they daily a Toyota Xrunner, and a 05 Yota Avalon.

Tony, pretty much all the interior parts are available. My car's interior was originally blue but I changed it over to red. The exception was the dash pad. Any exterior trim parts and lenses are not repopped so you get to spend time on ebay and forms to come up with stuff. All the front and rear window trim is the same as Chevelle/GTO so that's available.

A surprise to me was learning the hood hinges don't swap out.

It's nice having something different, especially since we both have 69 Camaros. It's tough to get much attention with those.

Poorhousenext, love those Vettes - really want to do one of those sometime.

WOW! I feel like an underachiever now.
My collection is a little more modest.
Daily drivers are a 2007 Jeep Liberty for the wife and for me a 2013 GMC Standard cab long box with a 4.8 (love it).
My toys, in no particular order are a 1977 Vega with the mighty 2.3 and neck snapping TH250 :candle: I have a 5.3 and T56 for it sitting in the garage.:naughty:
My other toy is a 1971 Nova sporting a 400 sbc with a close ratio T10 and 3.32 8.2. I've had this thing for twenty bloody years and it saw the road for the first time today:bananna2:. I had it out long enough to realize I can't drive a stick as well as I think I used to :hand: . Once I have chased down all (well, most of) the gremlins it will be open season on the Vega.
If I had the room (which I sorely lack) I would add a 2nd gen. F-body. I like the early Firebirds, prefer the later Firebird dashes, but would probably end up with a '75 Camaro Rally Sport clone (black'n'white). I had one back in the day and have always thought of it as "the one that got away".

In my garage right now I have:

1966 GTO post (running project car)
1968 LeMans Convertible
1969 Trans Am clone
1969 Charger General Lee
1970 LeMans
1970 GTO
1972 Trans Am (clone)
1973 K5 Blazer (at the body shop)
1979 Trans Am (wife's toy)
1986 Buick GN
1994 25th Anniversary Trans Am
1999 30th Anniversary Trans Am
2002 Firehawk
2012 SRT8 (wife's daily)
2013 Ram 1500 (daily)

Got too many, and several more stored in my dads barns. Thankfully he's collected project cars for the past 30 years.

It's time to make some room, but every time I look in the garage and try to decide which one(s) to get rid of I just get sad....

I just gave my dad the 79 10th Anniversary TA cause I had no room. Still need to get rid of another- haven't done much to the 66 GTO except get it running so I'm not too emotionally attached to it.

If I could add another? Viper, Pantera maybe? Something that approaches an exotic. Would also like a bigger first gen Mustang-probably 68-71.
