I have a 1968 Camaro. Thinking of doing a LS swap. Would have no use/storage for my 327 and 350 turbo transmission. Also have the 2 speed powerglide which was originally in the car. I guess I'm really asking what can I get for basically everything under the hood since I would be doing a swap. Aftermarket headers/intake/carb... The engine was rebuilt in 1995, only has 11k miles since. I drive the car often since I have owed in the last 2 years, never had a mechanical issue . Forgive me if I have asked a dumb question. I'm a newbie when it comes to the engine compartment. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

You might get a couple hundred dollars for it all, not much more.

If it's an original EC code, could be worth some decent money to a restorer (as long as it has the block and heads). Otherwise, you could probably get a grand or so for it all. Keep the engine and 350 trans in the car before you sell to get the most,

Thank you for the info! Yes it has an original Ec code. Would you suggest this would be the place to sell it on?

Try camaros.net,camaroforums.com and maybe some general Chevy restoration sites. Your best bet is to find a someone looking for that code engine/trans for a correct restoration. If you still have the stock intake and carb to throw in (even if not on the running engine), all the better. Do some more research, to really determine the value. Should be well north of a grand, easily to the right buyer.

I think you're gonna have a hard time selling it. People looking for origonal engines are few and far between. Not to mention the cars that are worth big bucks had rare engines like the LT or the DZ302.

LS swaps are hot for nearly anything. I think you will around $800-$1000 at most.

where are you located? I will be selling my LS6 here soon.

Its worth setting off to the side as you might want it for something else later.

Well considering how many old timers still think the 327 was blessed by God, I'd think you could get a decent amount. But on the other hand those are probably the same guys that still think a movie and a candy bar should cost a nickel.

??? Are you implying it WASN'T???

All joking aside, 18 months ago I sold a disassembled small bearing 327 W/ double bump heads for $175 . And i go to matinee showings of movies

I've been trying to find a 289/302 and trans for a project. One that I can hear run in person. Complete oil pan to carb and accy included. I'm seeing prices of $500 to as high as $1500. stock with iron heads. The $1500 was low miles, aluminum intake and 4 bbl. Mostly 3 spd automatics.

And as Mr. V said above, I would try to hang onto it for a future project. As I sold a running 302 after hanging onto it for a few years, and now have decided I want a wagon, but the one I bought is minus the engine. LOL

you could probably get a grand or so for it all.I hope the OP can, but I doubt it. Good luck, and I hope I'm wrong!

Put it up on Hemmings and Racingjunk.
HonestlyIf it was close enough I might be interested as I have some spare parts I am trying to use up.
Ipicked up some 283 pistons, 307 pistons and 350 pistons.
With my collection of parts, I could build several forged piston SBC. Take my 283 block, punch it for the over sized 307 forged pistons, use my 283 crank in the 327 block with saome forged 350 pistons and 6 in rods and throw my Eagle 5.7 Ibeams in 307.
Honestly, if you look around you can find some young gear head who isnt into tuner cars and make him a deal. Heck see if local HS or tech school has auto program, throw it up for sale also look atlocal race tracks with classifieds , heck a nice 327 throw in a converter in the 'glide, maybe a shift kit or manual VB and some young kid has a nice street strip combo.
Honestly a strong 327 is a solid engine for someone who isnt into sucking up to the LSx trough.
No disrespect to LSx guys.
Honestly I remember people making small SBC run harder than any should .
Figure $500-$1000 for engine/trans unless its for a restorer then you could get more to the right restorer.
Or find nice clean local body of some sort you can use and slap it together and sell it as runner.

I don't think the Powerglide is worth anything. If you were closer, I would pick it up for a future project (at a decent price)
