Building a LQ4 and intend to have a TVS2300 maggie blower that will be intended for autocross. I also have a set of NEW (Unused) 243 heads. Should I keep them and maybe port them or sell them (heard that they can fetch good money as they are new) and buy ported LS3 heads. Some say keep the 243 because they have better torque, others say go with LS3 heads.
Thoughts and opinions?

The 243's bring about $400-450 with springs. I feel like the cathedral heads produce more low end torque compared to the LS3 heads. I dont really miss it while autocrossing, but I notice it more in daily street driving situations. The LS3 heads pull pretty hard up top. You didnt say what kind of car you have, but im guessing if you are building a car for autocross, its probably not an impala or large heavy car. Are you rebuilding the entire LQ4? Me personally, I'd sell the heads and and supercharger and buy a good set of aftermarket heads (trick flows, texas speed, AFR etc.)If you are changing the rods and pistons, consider a stroker kit. The supercharger is awesome, but for hot lapping and repeated back to back autocross runs, heat can be a problem. I would keep the boost low if you do run the maggie.
