I'm looking for some help on wiring my Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra-Lite Speed-O. I'm running a 2002 Viper T-56 6 speed with the factory VSS. I have 2 wiring schematic's for the VSS. All three wires are black with the exception of the middle wire which has a white stripe.
I'm running a Speartech harness and a GM Corvette LS6 Computer. the wires in the harness for the VSS are yellow and purple
I have read this and tried it but it didn't work. http://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-transmission/1540313-viper-t56-vss-autometer-programmable-speedometer.html
Not sure if I'm missing something but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm thinking my T-56 only had two wires, Not sure though, I'd have to look.

I believe most or all GM T-56's only have 2 wires. The one's I've done in the past have all been 2 wire installs with no problems. The Dodge Viper has a three wire.

From the link is says that the 3 wire is Hall Effect, which is good and should work with the autometer speedo.
Are you sure the sensor is good?
Also note, the ECU won't be able to use the Hall Effect signal. I'd think about swapping to a 2 wire sensor if that's an option.

I would think you could covert it to a 2 wire, but the 3 wire still works the same.
Two them are are the VSS and the other is a 5v supply
Pin 2 should be the ground and pin 3 is the signal.
if you route it to the ecm, it will likely read incorrectly but you will have street calibrate the gauge either way.

From what I've read there isn't a 2 wire sensor for this application. The sensor that came with the G-Force built Viper T56 is brand new but I have order a new one just to take the scenario out of the equation.

This is what your saying but the link above says this is wrong. I've tried both with know luck.

I did cut off the plug that's attached to the sensor to install my own plug.
