OK multimedia guru's. How do I take video shot on my 8mm camcorder and get it onto my web site? I'm pretty computer illiterate, but I learn real quick.I have PLENTY of bandwidth to support the transfer. Thanks up front.

Not sure how people who have actually done it would do it, but I'd end up running it into the TV-in on my All-In-Wonder video card and using its capture to save the video to the HD.

There may be an easier way though. I haven't yet had anything worth videotaping.

I thought about running it into the A.V. in/out but my other computer doesn't have any inputs.

if your camera doesnt have a usb output, you'll need a video captureing graphics card as mentioned above. then, you'd save it as a wmv or mpeg and load it up just like any other file.

Go to Best Buy or Circuit City and buy something called a Dazzle. It is only $60 and you can put videos from your camcorder, from Playstation 2, X-box, VCR, DVD and anything else onto your computer. :)

Let me keep this question going, if i have avi's from my digi camera can i just change the extension, if not do i need a special program to change it?

unsure, but why would you want to change it? avi's work with most major players. windows media player plays them and they look great.

Whatever program you use with the Dazzle will allow you to change what kind of file you want to save as. The best video extension that I have seen is the .wmv You can knock a 10mb video down to 756kb which is very small and easy to post. Did you buy the Dazzle yet? It will have just about anything you need. It comes with a software called Pinnacle.

ok the reason i ask is because you should be able to type in and then should it play the video or ??? Its in my public folder with all my web pages. this pic is in the same location [url=]www.hotrodhoodlumstexas.com/knoxville0008.jpg (]www.hotrodhoodlumstexas.com/mvi_2889.avi[/url) and it does not work :dunno: do i have to put pic in my images folder? I can have a program in then same place that the two other items are and it will download fine.

It shouldn't matter if it's in the root directory or a subfolder. What hosting service do you use?
