There seems to be minimal and conflicting information on the internet regarding what fittings go to the SN95 mustang steering rack. I'm looking to adapt to -6 an. I purchased a 16mmX1.5 and a 14mmX1.5 o-ring fitting, but they don't appear to be the correct fit. they thread in, but it doesn't look to me like the O-ring engages into anything. the bottom of the fitting just bottoms out.

I also have similar concerns about my GM type II steering pump. I bought a 16mmX1.5 o-ring fitting for that too that was advertised to fit that pump, but I'm not sure it will actually seal.

any one with experience here have any advice?
thanks.

here are the fittings I have. seems like o-ring isn't right for this.

wow. pricey. must be why they don't reveal what the fitting size is.

looks like I may have to go that route to make it work though. thanks for the link.

Check Speedway Motors, here is one similar to what was linked at the Maximum motorsports site.

For others looking for earlier rack fittings, these are for earlier mustang racks: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/T-Bird-Power-Steering-Rack-and-Pinion-Fittings-Steel-6-AN,104737.html The O ring fittings you have work on some later racks. Yours looks like it seals at the top like earlier racks. Use some Loctite on the threads to seal and hold it tight.

to further confuse the issue, there are both metric and standard size fittings. - both advertised for the t-bird rack.
