The company who installed my rear glass got a few spots of urethane adhesive on the paint. They obviously didn't see it when cleaning everything up. Is there anything that will remove it without taking my paint off. It has been in there for about a week or two. Clear is ppg d8188

I would start by attempting to roll it up with your finger. If that doesn't work then finger nail. If still stick I would consult PPG on a solvent that will not harm that clearcoat to soften that up.

Thinners ....today's urethane adhesive is crazy strong according try buddy who installs glass for a living, he said you got to think glass is now a structural member of a vehicle. So it's not meant to be easily removed. Obviously it's easiest when it's literally fresh . Thinners of some kind is best to use . His suggestion is take it back and telling them you paint had better not be damaged. Let them deal with it.

I've used wax & grease removers made by auto paint manufacturers for pre paint cleaning with no problems. Test an unseen area first.

I spoke to a ppg rep and he said to test using reducer on a hidden section. I did and the paint didn't come off. It removed a little residue but needs a ton of elbow grease to get it all of. Sadly I paid a glass company so this wouldn't happen. The installing went horrible and next time I will do it myself.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but those spots are the least of your problems. Looks like they used butyl tape which shouldn't be used anymore by a glass shops. I personally don't like it because it'll get hot and moves around depending on how much they back filled with urethane. Even if they did back fill they probably bonded to a butyl primer which is bad. Try wax and grease remover with a little compound on a rag it should come off. Urethane really doesn't stick well in not primed correctly. Good Luck
