I've done several paint projects before, but this is my first full car paint job from bare metal to clear. I sprayed the car in epoxy primer then a 2k acrylic urethane. My question is do the 2k acrylic urethane primers usually come out with a little shine to them? Mine has almost a satin look. And my next question is does all have to be sanded for the next layers to stick? Areas like inside the seal gutters on the truck I didn't plan on sanding.

Sheen depends largely on brand, reducers, how it's applied. I've had some come out with an eggshell type shine, and some more dull.

And yes, if it's getting paint applied later, it needs to be scuffed. Don't use sandpaper though in the jambs and such, use some scotch brite. Much easier, and better coverage.

I wasn't sure, it's probably a little glossier then eggshell. Good idea with the Scotchbrite.

Thanks.
