View Full Version : Are used Hydro boosts worth getting?

I found a old hydro boost system on a 78 pickup at the junk yard.

Are these things worth getting? I assume it would have to be rebuilt? I stole the flow control valve out of the power steering pump. Now I'm wondering if I should have just got the pump and the Hydro boost?

There are plenty in the community that have installed a used unit with no problems. I guess without knowing the history of the car you're pulling it from can be taking a chance, but they only go for $20 at the junk yards here, so to me it's worth a try.
