I'd like to fit some 18" Weld Racing RTS S77 on my stock axle/frame. What's would be an optimal size including back spacing/offset? I'd like to fit some 305 or 315s.

Car is dropped 2". This is a70 Chevelle

I plan on putting 6 piston wilwoods too

do some digging around on here ....275 will fit on the front 315 will fit on the rear the only issue is when it is lowered AND the trunk or back seat is loaded if you will. this is due to the shape of the outer wheelwell . depending on your spring rates of the rear this will determine how much your car will rub or bottom out . i unfortunately do not remember what the backspacing measurements are to fit these size tires but i know for a fact the info is on here somewhere

There's an application guide on their website for many different makes and models...

The tires can both with on an A body, but what width wheel are you planning? That wil help with some backspacing size recommendations for the tires you want to use.
I'm assuming you want at 18x10 which would put you about 5.5 to 5.75" bs. You should also try to consider what make/model tire you want to use. Manufacturers have recommended wheel width ranges depending on the tire you intend to use.

I'm probably gonna go with a 305/40R18 in the rear. I'd just hate to order wheels and they not fit

kinda pricey to use once but buy a wheelrite tool....it lets you size tires and rims ....completely adjustable . use it and either rent it out like some other guys are or sell it to someone else in your position

Also are the weld wheels strong enough for daily use?

This is a good suggestion as Ryan states and there are a cpl users here that rent theirs out. Check the classifieds. You would need a mock up tire to help determine fitment.

Here is the builder fitting front tires on my friends Chevelle using wheel rite

Weld wheels are strong enough for daily use. The 305/40/18 will fit a 10" wide wheel, you may have some sidewall buldge depending on which tire
you choose. Weld would know a common backspacing for the Chevelle, but 5.5-5.75 would be a fair guess.
