Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. My name is Josh and I have an addiction... to cars. I am in Raleigh, NC, and found this site as I started exploring resources to build a classic truck into a restomod. After some lurking and searching, I decided what I really wanted to do classified more as a Pro-Touring build. Not sure when or if I will get started, as I have a 15 month old boy, a wife who is pushing for us to work on a second child (not a bad thing!), a demanding job, and only a 2 car garage (however it is extremely large for a two car!).

I grew up in mostly modern Mustangs and Camaros, but have owned an S2000, BMW 135i, three Integras, four Cobras, an SS Camaro, and currently a CTS-V. It's a 2011, manual, longtubes and exhaust, intake, lower pulley, tune, and puts down 542 at the rear wheels. Easily the most fun car I have ever owned. I also have a 1965 Wimbledon White Mustang Fastback that I will be restomodding one day. And now, on to the pics!

CTS-V in our garage last August when we bought our current house:

The Fastback. It has been cleaned and is now in storage:

More of the V when we were in our townhome:

My last Cobra, 03 Vert with some bolt ons, 460 rwhp and my BMW 135i that had a tune, exhaust, and intake so probably around 360 rwhp:

And finally, me and my little buddy on Monday before the crushing UNC loss in the Championship game:

Welcome Josh, we're here for you and your addiction problem . Admittance is the first step . Don't ask what any of the others are cause I really don't give a damn lol. I'm not too sure if you're a gm , Ford or, import guy but, your choices either way have been pretty solid . I test drive the s2000 right before they came out . Sweet Jesus them Lil things got up and moved . The Old Mustang is definitely a beautiful car . I'm a gm guy but will always have a soft spot for those mustangs. The CTS V is sex on wheels I've had 4 cadillacs 3 sts and the current srx all Northstar powered but I've promised my self I'd go get a ctsv and soon too . . . . it will be the boring first gen thou....lol he'll maybe even this summer I'll score one for myself as soon as there is one that isn't black or silver .
As for learning stuff here well I'd say you can learn to feed your addiction to cars beer bad jokes and even a small amount of knowledge lol

Thanks Ryan! I have no brand loyalty; if the car is fast, cool, and I like the looks, I am a fan. Hence me owning American, Japanese, and German to date. The S2000 was the car I owned the longest, almost 3 years. Such a fun ride and a vert. I have had more Ford cars, but I have no hate for GM.

As for what I am looking to build in a Pro-touring truck, it'd be between a second gen F100 (53-56) or even a first gen, or a short bed C10, any year before 73. Unfortunately, that may mean selling the CTS-V to put the truck in the garage while I work on it. I could not live with myself if I parked the V outside in the elements, especially considering it is a 2011 and doesn't even have 26,000 miles on it. I am very fortunate that my trip to work and back is less than 16 miles a day!

Welcome!

My dad is onto his second LSA CTS-V and they're amazing cars, I agree!

I'd say you have us build you a chassis with our 700+hp LSA and T56 Magnum, stick it under a C10, and out handle some sports cars.
That's what I'd do anyway. ;)

Welcome Josh. Congrats on the long list of great rides. Also congrats on the future driver of you cars that you holding in your arms. A pro touring truck would be something to see. I like the gas monkey pikes peek build although yours would have more presence being older.
Don't pay any attention to Donald and his new implant. Seems he can't stop telling people about it and is egar to share it with more people than just his life partner.
Looking forward to your build buddy.
