Hey everyone.
Been stopping by this forum over the last few months, checking out the projects everyone has. Lots of stellar stuff on here! Kind of intimidating. I have an '85 Camaro I bought 15 years (or so) ago, took it apart and then life happened. Turning 40 next year and seems like I need to get my butt in gear. The car was an absolute wreck when I bought it (and still is). It was disassembled to repair some rust. As it sits now I have a Borg 9-bolt installed with Spohn LCA brackets welded in. New bushings. Eibach springs. I think at this point, my intention is to build this towards CAM auto-x. Not a great picture, but here it is.

Thanks
I had been out of the game for such a long time, when I started just the garage clean up, I forgot how much fun I use to have working in there.

Sheez, 40, you'de better get your tail in gear, you're getting old! ;) jab jab lol.
Glad you're not intimidated any more, I was for a few years too but found once I got over the intimidation and started posting my build plenty of support and thumbs up came my way. You'll find all levels of builds here and you'll fit right in. You may want to check out Cam Nation on facebook too. Lots of great folks there for specific autoX insight.
The project looks perfect. I graduated in '88 and remember how cool the IROCS were and thought it'd be cool to have one but I was too into the muscle cars and drag racing at the time. I never realized until getting into the p-t scene how good a platform they really are.
Wait, I hear a faint sound from the Porsche too... "LS swap me.... ls swap me..."
Well as soon as you dig that Camaro out of the garage start posting pics and keep us in the loop. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome.
And no LS swap for the 944. One major project is enough. LOL That car is actually in pretty good shape. If I ever get this Camaro done, I want to do something epic after it - like an RCR40 build.
I grew up watching the IMSA Firehawk series & really kinda want to do something influenced by that. For example, a lot of the Camaros ran Pontiac WS6 wheels (the mesh ones). Maybe get a set of those (or the Year One 17" replicas), cut the centers out them and weld them into 18" barrels, like the Porsche guys do with Fuchs. Things like that....
