I saw this fuse on a battery the other day and liked the way it was set-up. I was wondering if anyone has used one for the alternator. Mine goes from the alternator a few inches to an ANL fuse holder on the fender then back to the battery. This would be cleaner, but not sure how vibration/heat resistant it is.

I'm familiar w/ that type of fuse....

FWIW-I personally don't think fusing the alternator is that great of an idea...if the alternator shorts out- it will quickly stop putting out power- way before it starts a fire or blows a big fuse. On the otherhand- short the battery and it keeps putting out 7-10 times the amount of current the alternator can on a good day.

AND depending how you have the car wired- could easily blow the fuse when starting the car...

On my daily drivers- Chevy Avalanche and BMW 750IL- neither one has a fuse off the alternator...just sayin,

I've read it both ways. My G8 has an 'inline fuse generator' 175a just after the alternator. So did the Ls3 factory Corvette harness.
