Hey guys,
So I am not very knowledgable in the wheel and tire department. I have a basically stock 1970 Z28 Camaro and am in need of new tires. I also would like to upgrade the wheels as well.
The plan is to do a staggered stance with the tires and 20 inch rear wheels with 18 or 19 inch front.
The question is, how wide can I go on the rear tires/wheels without running into issues? I was hoping to do 10 inch tires on the rear, and still unsure on the front.
Any suggestions? Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You can go as wide as an 8" wide wheel on most 2nd gen Camaros with out modifying the Car. You should be able to ask most any wheel and tire store to make sure,But if you want to want to run a 10" rim in back. You will either have to mini-tub it ,or flair them out. These are 17 x 8"s an mine

You can run an 8.0 front wheel with a 245 tire, and a 10.0 rear wheel with a 275 wide tire. What brand wheels are you looking at? We carry most of the popular forged brands. www.dv8motoring.com

So it wouldn't be possible to run a 9.0 inch wide wheel on the front without issues under any circumstances? Even with the correct amount of backspacing?
I'm still undecided on brands at this moment, I've been working on getting the dimensions down prior to deciding on a specific brand. However, like I said before, I am open to any and all suggestions!

No it would not be possible to run a 9" wide rims with out either mini tubing or flairing the rear fenders. That is the reason I run 17x8 wheels with 275 /45 17 inch tires.

Front wheels still have to turn :)
The Chevelle can run a 9.0 / 275 front tire (barely), and hit has cavernous house inner fenders. The Camaro does not. You can certainly opt to run wider tires and wheels, if you can live with them rubbing on the frame and the inner fenders each time you turn.

Sorry, but that is incorrect. You can run a 9.0 wheel, and even a 10.0 wheel, with that same 275 tire you have now. The tire is what we are clearing, not the wheel.
