I know a guy has 17x9's on one but I would like to run a 9.5. I eventually want to upgrade to a ride tech truturn setup, but it's not really in the budget right now. I want to go ahead and get a 9.5 wheel up front because I am ordering wheels soon & don't want to buy them twice. I was thinking I could run a 245 or 255 tire for now & upgrade to a 275 when I buy the truturn. I know the inner wheel wells will have to go. Thoughts?

I don't think you can run a 9.5 without truturn.

You would probably have to flair your front fenders with a lot of outboard offset .So you wouldn`t hit the frame while you turn.Nova were designed to be more of a commuter car. Than the Camaro of which Chevrolet had racing in mind. And if you want to add flairs .You should check the SCCA type race cars from back in that era.

9.5" wheel will fit. Not sure about fitting with out tru turn. The inner fender doesn't have to be removed.

I run a 18x9.5 with a 275 with the inner fender.

Yes I have the tru turn. I run 18x9.5 with 5.5" BS

I have a Nova in the shop right now, Im going to pull my front wheel and see if I can fit my wheel on the front of that car that doesn't have the tru turn.

I have a 72 Nova with 18x9 ,5.5 BS 255 wide tire. No tru turn.
I have Speedtech control arms with CCP tall spindle (that is taller than factory but not a dropped spindle) and I have issues the I have to solve. I lost turning radius due to the wheels are touching the upper control arms and the sway bar.

I have already got Speedtech AFX 1" drop tall spindles along with their new design upper control arm which is pretty straight not like that I had before and a new Ridetech musclebar. That swaybar is really very important if you want to keep your turning radius. That is not a good solution to use thicker spacers and come out with the wheels to get more clearance inside due to the scrub radius.
I really hope that combo will work well together.
I like the idea of the C6 type spindles much better than the factory type dropped spindles so the Tru Turn was not even in my plan when I started to collect the parts for my car.

I have 18x9.5 up front with rolled fenders running a 295 tire. I autocross almost every weekend. I use to run the 275 before the 295. Both will rub on fender and frame at full lock but I just deal with it and very little need to be at full lock. I have a 20mm off set with 6' back spacing.

Hi Dan, did you ever measure up the other wheels?

Hi Dan, did you ever measure up the other wheels?

No have not, I had a small problem with my car few weeks ago.( blow the driveshaft up on dyno, took exhaust and floor pan with it). Customer has his Nova back, but I have it on the list to get back in a few weeks for more upgrades.

Hows the fender clearance with that wheel?

I never got time to try my front wheels on the customers car before he picked it up.

Just got these installed yesterday, 17X8 4.81 BS. My tires rub on bumps and I really don't want to lift the car. I would rather go lower if possible. I knew i would have to massage the inner fenders a little. Any other ideas, Anybody 131848131849
