Securing upper and lower links

Regarding upper and lower links on a 3 link.

About how tight should you make the jam nut?

Also, Should you clean off any powder coat on the jam nut to link mating surface?

Should you use thread lock on the jam nuts?

(Same questions for the Watts link jam nuts)

I hope this thread does not just sound so ignorant that no one will reply. I would like to know is anything I should know besides the obvious, I guess.

I will torque the jam nuts to around 85 ftlbs since they are 3/4". Estimated by hand. Maybe a little more. I think I will use a medium threadlock compound as well.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. The stuff that holds the rear end in the car is pretty important to get right for safety sake. Any tricks of the trade or experience would be greatly appreciated.
