Well after 2 years I'm almost done with my car, its a 1971 Firebird Formula with a LS2/6l80e out of a Caprice PPV cop car. I had Speartech do all my wiring, gauges, and ECM/TCM.

The car starts right up, no problem and runs great at idle but after it warms up it idles pretty low, but that's kinda cool because I changed the cam with a DOD delete so it lopes pretty good! The problem is, after its warm and I rev it up it won't keep running and becomes harder to start, I have to give it some extra throttle to keep it running so I'm sure it will probably stall every time I stop? I haven't driven it yet.

Is there a mail order tune I can buy or am I going to have to trailer it somewhere to get it tuned? This is my first build so I'm a newbie!

I would contact Speartech. There IS a way to tune remotely but I don't know if they have that capability. Tuning remotely involves emailing you a tune and you having a special piece of hardware that accompanies to install the tune. The other option is to send them your PCM for a re-flash. The only other possibilities are to buy a tuning program and attempt the fix yourself or take to a tuner

If at all possible, find a reputable tuner who can either dyno or street tune it with a wide band. Its well worth it even if you have to travel a little ways. If the cam isnt too radical, a good tuner should be able to get it dialed in in an hour, maybe 2 at the most. Very nice bird by the way.

I suggest an actual dyno tune or get an HP tuner with the wideband and learn how to do it.

Mail order tunes are crap! They will get you close and good enough for some, but with internal mods a mail order tune is really only to get you running and drivable to get a real tune.

I pulled the car outside and let it run for quite awhile working the throttle to help break in the cam. It only quit on me one time and I did need to use the gas to get it running again but it did stay running at idle, it idles around 600 to 800 RPM and has an awesome lope! I drove it down the block and back with no problems so it seems to be drivable. I'm for sure going to get it dyno tuned, this thing should be about 450HP, not sure what that will be at the rear wheels.

No need for a break in with a hyd. Cam. Just a heat cycle on the springs and youre ready to rock. Some even skip the heat cycle on the springs...

Congrats on being close to the finish line with your swap. Hotrodneb is referring to the efilive software. I think the upload module is called an autocal or something like that
