Good morning all, I received a call last night from a family member asking for a friend what the best intake for a LS6 would be. Car is street use with a little attitude I guess. Looking for advice, opinions, etc... Any of the factory offerings and if so which one, part number, pricing, etc... I recall Hot Rod doing a 20 (different) manifold test for the LS1 a while back that was quite informative. Thank You.

The OEM LS6 manifold is a great piece however they are becoming harder to find. FAST LSX or LSXR manifolds will produce more HP than the OEM but will cost more $$$.

Here's the Hotrod article you referenced. http://www.hotrod.com/features/1507-20-ls1-intake-manifolds-tested/

Plenty of hp can be made with stock ls6 intake. If it's a mild build, id leave it be. The gains of going with a FAST on relatively stock engines are fairly minimal compared to the cost.

If it's just for cruising around on the street is it might not be worth splitting hairs. I mean for normal and sometimes slightly more aggressive driving would the person driving know if the car had 15+ hp @6,500 rpm? Shaving down, bonding and painting a truck intake seems like the best of both worlds in terms of price to performance.
