View Full Version : Throttle will not respond after tune

I have a ls6 with Dbw in my 67 Camaro and it was driving fine except for the tune after putting a cam in it. When I would let off throttle it would die at red lights and stop signs so I sent it off for a mail order tune. After getting the pcm back and getting it in the car I now have no throttle at all. Car cranks and idles fine but give it throttle and nothing. Is there anyway that the tune they put in could cause this problem because they are saying their tune has absolutely nothing to do with the dbw.

ive had this happen, they tuned it for db cable, it will still run just no dbw command, i switched the ecm with one that we had in another car and it worked, sent ecm off and had it redone and it fixed it

This is what I figured as well but all they keep telling me is that in no way do they do anything that affects the throttle when they put a tune in for a cam.

It is correct that we don't adjust any of the table relating to your throttle body with respect to not making it respond to throttle. So, in the scenario presented where a DBC ECM was used in a vehicle with DBW, it wouldn't make sense for you because we would not have loaded a different VIN into your ECM. If it was working properly before you sent the ECM to us for tuning, it should still be working just fine after the tune. There's something quirky going on, and I would recommend unplugging your ECM and plugging it back in just to make for certain that the harness is properly seated to the ECM. I would also verify that your throttle body is plugged in properly, just in case it was knocked loose somehow. As I mentioned in PM, I feel like it will be something quirky like a connection. With that said, if you would like to send the ECM back to us, I will be glad to have our tuner take another look at the file for you. If there's something that he somehow missed in the tune, we will cover both directions for shipping. We average 8-10 ECM's each day for mail-order tuning, so we see a LOT of different issues from customers. This is certainly not one we have experienced before, so we want to be sure all connections are solid before you send the ECM back to us. We don't want to leave you down and not running any longer than you already are, so anything we can do to help we certainly will!
Let us know if you have any other questions. We're here to help.
Thanks!
