Id like to black out the trim on my 67 camaro and I'm not sure if I should paint or powder coat? Painting is cheaper and easier to touch up but powder coat seems to be more durable. What prep work do I need to do if I paint? Thanks for any help.

I have done vinyl wrap and plastidip both with great success. plus if you get tired of it being gloss black or flat black you can change it easily.

If you are worried about durability powedercoat is the only way to go. Keep in mind, powdercoating is thicker than paint..

Personally I'd paint it, scuff the trim well, dust it with a good black etch primer, shoot with single stage urethane and hardener. Touch up gun would be perfect on this.

Reason I say paint, is if it gets scratched installing or dinged while driving you can control the touchup. Stripping powder is a bitch, don't think the trim would stand up to blasting well.
