I have been been following the site for over two years looking and trying to learn as I go and turning something crappy into something nice. I found a project that was starting a conversion from a firebird to a Camaro got a great deal on it so I took it. I knew I was building something to enjoy and not a matching car so I jumped on the deal. I was going to start the thread two years ago but wasn't sure how long it was going to take so I waited till the car was close to being complete. So my thread won't be long I just wanted to share my project with you guys because this site had a big influence on what I wanted to do with the car.

Welcome to the site, looks like a pretty cool project. I am in the process of restoring my 68 Camaro, so very similar.

Best way to post pictures is using a hosting site such as photobucket or flickr. Then copy the IMG code and paste into your replies. [IMG]YOUR PICTURE HERE[IMG/] is roughly what it should look like.

Hope that helps.

I guess I need to tell everyone what the plan was cause I will just start spamming pictures I think I got loading pictures down. I been doing everything on my phone so hopefully the picture sizes are correct.

Back to the car original plan was a 383 stoker and hotchkis suspension and true forge wheels and stock interior. I ended up going 505 BBC with tko 500, coilovers and 4link. I went with tmi interior and ditched the stock fuel tank and went with a aeromotive stealth tank.

I went with a cowl hood instead of the rs hood plus the body had a lot of filler that had to be sanded and cut out. Luckily the truck and floors had no rust and no holes just sanded and sprayed with raptor liner.

Since the car was already gutted I always like the 68 dash better than the 69 so we went that route. Also fuel system installed in the trunk we cut the trunk floor to raise the cell up so that it's not visible from the outside.

I went with modern classic switchblade console. I like how it connected to the 68 dash. Also this was when I changed out my suspension it was hotchkis springs front and rear to coilovers in the front and heidts 4 link in the rear.

I went with TMI interior, I did the black suede headliner, door panels and matching seats, black vinyl/suede inserts with red stitching.
