So i had started this thread a while ago but my pictures keep going sideways and i saw a build similar to what i was trying to achieve. With that said fellas I'll give you a bit about the car,and this build. A 66 ford Fairlane i picked up out in Texas for $80.00 wasn't a bad deal. Dry rotted tires and some rusty spots here and there. This build has jumped in play now so i figured I would document it here for those who have similar interests. Since the car was purchased so cheaply i would like to see if i could keep it that way (that should make things a bit more interesting wouldn't you say?) id like to post as many pictures as i can (dontcha just love threads with tons of pics:seizure:) while keeping the build rolling.. this will be an as i go build so who knows what direction this could take. enjoy

AFTER THE WASH TO SEE WHAT WAS UNDERNEATH I WAS SURPRISED THAT IT WASN'T AS BAD AS I THOUGHT

THE BACK GLASS WAS THE ONLY THING MISSING ON THE ENTIRE CAR

THE NEXT STEP WAS TO SIMPLY SEE IF IT WOULD RUN...AND OF COURSE IT DIDN'T. HERE IS WHY

While we make room for the car inside the shop i couldn't resist the urge to mess with this thing i have already waited months...soooo i ran a little set up just to see if i could get a little rumble... Quick replacement of a fuel pump, oil & filter, new battery, coolant, a good 2bl carb laying around the shop, a quick line fix and boom the little 289 car fires:smoke::smoke::machine:

$80!! That's unbelievable!

I do like the 66 and 67's a lot and almost bought one myself. What's the basic plan?

there really is no course for the car aside from it being road course oriented but other than that its a blind build..everything we do has a path so for this one i decided not to have one. figured it would make things interesting, i could drop tens of thousands but i understand everyone isn't as fortunate to do so. with that said this build is to inspire the budget guys :smoke::cheers:

Depends what you can get your hands on! A high revving 289 is fun, but then so is a big torque motor......

On my social media many people are saying they would like to see a modern outside and suspension with a close to factory inside. Some say cage it and roll it. I'm trying to be on the side of the budget guys though
