Cylinder head questions

I was wondering if getting my cylinder heads CNC ported with smooth cut finish, and a 3 angle valve job would make more HP then some aftermarket SBC cylinder heads? Im trying to get the best bang for my very cheap buck. :icon996:

Some heads, maybe. Some heads, no matter how much money you throw at them.

Which heads do you have now?

I find that generally building stock style heads up ends up costing about the same as buying aftermarket heads when all is said and done.
The aftermarket heads almost always end up working better.
With RPM heads costing ~$1000/set and L31 Vortec heads comeing in at ~$500/set (+ new intake manifold ~$200) its pretty hard to justify porting factory heads anymore
