I am doing an ls swap in my 67 camaro (5.3 twin turbo setup). I am using the 105 amp truck alternate that came with the motor. It is a 4 wire and I am unsure how it needs be wires since I am using a Holley ecu. I have done some research and see where a resistor may be needed. I am also having a problem where the plug is right next to my header. I would like to convert this to a one wire regulator to avoid burning wires...see pic...can someone show me how to wire the four wire and also point me in right direction for one wire regulator and doing the conversion. The alternate is the 105 amp version... Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Will not allow me to attach pic but headers are up and forward facing and the alternator sits right in front of the passenger side head and bracket mounts to water pump.

Holley makes a pigtail for the alternator that has a built in resistor. That needs to go to a switched +12v. You also want to wire the S terminal to your main power distribution point.

The s terminal is just the stud correct? Will wiring this way be better than converting it to a one wire?

The S terminal is one of the 4 pins that's on the main plug. You want to wire both the L and S terminal for optimal performance. Look at my Cougar build thread for details. The plug going into the alternator uses metripack 150 terminals.

Thanks, so basically buy pigtail and wire to switch hot, wire constant hot to pin b and hot to stud also correct? If I run into clearance issues with header is there any problems with changing regualtor to one wire?
