New to the site and wanted to introduce myself and the project I am working on. My name is Brandon DeFazio, I’m 23 and currently finishing up a 1969 Mustang Fastback build that started back in October of 2012 with my dad. The mustang was purchased as my first car back in high school and has always been my favorite year and model of the mustang class. Growing up I always knew I wanted one for my first car and I was lucky enough to get one and grow up with a family history of racing and building cars. My dad and I decided back in 2012 that we were going to restore the car and turn it into a nice pro-touring style fastback and autocross/road race the car. That original plan quickly escalated into a full tear down of the car and completely tangent plan, deciding a year into the project that we were going to build a high end show car, the exact thing we did not want to do when starting the project. A little over three years into the build, the mustang is near completion and is expected to be completed by March for the Good Guys show in Pleasanton (as long as there are no major setbacks). More information about the car can be found in my PT garage along with some pictures of where the car currently is in the build. I wanted to introduce myself and the car and share the build with the community from start to finish. Project Build can be found under the project update forum under the thread "DeFazio's High End Pro-Touring 1969 Mustang Fastback" or by searching the thread. Hope you all enjoy!

Welcome Brandon. Let me start off by saying you and your dad have done a sweet job on that car. Rear suspension looks to be a beast. Saw it on the Anvil car. Blown away then and now. Noticed you kept the shock towers. Can only imagine the sweet setup under those. Very clean lines and touches. Gas cap and lower valance look great. With body and paint looking that nice I hope your autocrossing skills are the best or may the pylons be made of cotton candy my friend. Lol. Looking forward to seeing more. I really like the stangs.

We appreciate the comments. Because of the quality of the build we probably will not be auto-crossing the car, at least not until the car has been shown for a year or so. Dont want to put it into a wall and waste the nearly 4 years of time we've put into it haha. As for the paint code, its a custom blend we created so there isn't really a paint code for it. Ill be posting the entire paint process we did in a couple weeks under the project update forum under "DeFazio's High End Pro-Touring 1969 Mustang Fastback" where you can also find the build from start to finish.

Nice build, the 69 Mustang is my favorite model year as well. I love the cantilever suspension in back, it's a shame that it will only be seen when the trunk is open.

You will be able to see the suspension inside the car. We did not want to close it off since it is such a cool piece and the highlight of the car.
