Hello: New here.
Stopped building cars over 30 years ago, now Im back.
Building 65 c10 - pro touring type truck.

Have down to frame, as tearing down, it kept looking out of square to me.
I have it down and clean and, sure enough, measuring across frame to set points shows it out 1/2 inch corner to corner.
Strange enough, all straight measurements are within a 1/16th.

So- Is frame build offset?
Anyone have pdf of factory frame check points on 65 c10 short bed?
Recommend proper way tomes sure/check?

Don't want to finish blasting and then paint till I know I'm ok.

Next:

Are folks here using Hotchis suspensions or, something thats a better bang for the buck ?

Right now I'm just needing to make sure I'm straight.

Thank ahead of time for any help.

Rusty

See if that might help you, the larger pics start about halfway down.

Thanks Kingcrunch.
Confusing though- pics of c10 ( c14) show fuel tank and spare tire at rear of frame .
C10 has fuel tank behind seat.

I know that many people relocate the gas tank to that spot. It is strange that it only appears on the coil spring suspension diagram. The spare tire does appear to be in the correct spot though.

Thanks for all the help so far .
Got my frame sorted out.

Next question/s :
Does anyone have good pics of 65 c10 firewall?
Someone beat this one up pretty bad putting a 454 in it and not knowing what to do for clearances .

I finished metal / body work on top of tunnel today ( lord what a task) and now have to tackle damage on heater box side.
So much damage where they beat in firewall for valve cover clearance - I really need some pics to see what it was supposed to look like.

Secondly : anyone have pics of shaved 65 firewall and do I need to retain upper lug above firewall area- it appears I do as seal for hood and it goes all the way down almost to door sills.

Lastly for now: Anyone have picks of 65 dropped 4.5 in from, 6 in rear.
Will there be header clearance issues- concerns with sway bar mounts dragging in driveways etc.
Suggested rim, tire sizes, negative off set on rear rims?
Trying for 28 or so tire height in rear with 3:73 posi and Tremec tranny.

Truck getting upper and lower tubular control arms, sway bars on both ends, front spindles dropped 2.5 , front springs 2.
New trailing arms, mounts, shocks relocated in both ends, anti squat mounts for training arms, adjustable panhard bar.
Built 350, Tremic etc.

Thanks again for all the help.

Have I offended folks?
Going about info seeking wrong way?
Wrong place/ thread to post ?
Don't mind paying for advice either.

Thanks

That will make for a cool truck! I don't have much info to offer, but I can take pictures of my firewall and anything else you need. Are you over on the 67-72chevytruck forum? Bunch of knowledge over there on specific stuff to these trucks. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=6

No problem! Between here and there, you should be able to find anything you need. Specific questions will probably get answered better in the specific forum. Suspension questions in suspension subforum and so on. Not very many people check the builds as much as the normal forum sections.
