I am pretty sure someone here has to have already been down this path... I have new tail light sockets from Ricks P/N TL-8 and was wondering how you connected them to the harness is the white lead for park / turn and the black for brakes or vice versa??

Thanks!

This is from the wiring diagram I snagged for my 68 some time ago.

Yes there are only 2 leads off the socket, and since the color coding on the leads doesn't match OEM I can't figure out which one I match two based on the the OEM wiring diagram. I thought this would have been something someone else has already done when rewiring their car, to save me the pain of wiring them up to find out I reversed the leads.

Thansk!

Look inside the socket - the little grooves the tangs on the bulb go into; one is long and one is short. Check which wire is where in relation to the grooves on the existing socket and which is where on the new socket (sorry to be vague; I don't have a socket or a Camaro to look at)

You can put a 1157 bulb in the socket, ground the socket to Batt - and touch the white wire to Batt +, then try the black, the brighter of the two will be your Brake and Turn, the other will be run light. If memory serves me correct, the Black should be Brake/Turn.

Thanks... I checked this today and your memory is correct the black is the brake/turn.
