Nice video, some great shots!

Question I always wondered... when using the hand brake to drift on a manual trans car, is there a secondary linkage that also disengages the clutch? Or does the driver have to stomp on the clutch pedal every time he pulls the hand brake to lock up the tires?

Just stomp the clutch, rip the brake for the desired angle, then drop the clutch and power through.

possibly there's some new tech in the top end cars but none that I've ever seen or driven.

There's also a first gen camaro with a speed tech subframe, and a large amount of steering mods in the drift scene also, I think in New Zealand

I havent heard about any handbrake-clutch linkage things, on few cars with auto transmission there are things like that. Few guys here has used newer Mercedes boxes, converted to manualshift.

Drift can be started with handbrake like mentioned earlier, or with clutchkick, or "skandinavian flick", and often in compepitions judges want to see quite agressive entry style, so it´s basically agressive skandinavian flick with massive wheelspin :)
