Anyone have issues with the drivers side vent bezel having a gap between the bezel and the dash? Theres about a 1/16 of a in difference and no matter how i position it i can see the gap. Any suggestions? Build up the bezel?

Are you talking about the AC/Heater dash vent bezel? If so have you replaced the packing?

Yes the dash vent bezel. I need the vent a 1/16" wider on each side so it filled the bill oval opening. Guess i could always build the vent bezel edges up with bondo or JB quick weld on the plastic. Sand it down and paint the bezel

I have these issues as well but it is not the car's fault. Original non-A/C car and the shop that cut the holes in the dash ended up hacking them too large. Pisses me off whenever I look at it. If you are able to find anyone who makes an oversize bezel I would love to hear about it. Might something similar have happened to your car in its past?

Randy,
Could you post a picture of what your talking about? I may have a somewhat solution for you if It's what I think it is.

yea ill post a picture tomorrow when I'm messing with it. I noticed the right side vent has more lip to it where it contacts the dash. I could use two right sides. Most likely what ill do is build the bezel up a little.

Just think of it this way. You know the hole in the dash well imagine if the vent bezel that covers the hole has a TINY gap on one side right in the middle.

ok, what if you took a piece if thin plastic sheet, cut a hole in it that fits the od of the bezel, then trace the outside of the bezel by adding maybe 3/16" all around the outside. This would hide the hole and could be painted to match the dash. It would look like just another facet of the bezel. Hope I haven't confused you, but I think it would look great. A lot of work, but worth it.

i used a two part epoxy used to repair bumpers. layed a piece of tap around the edge of the bezel and spread the epoxy on it and sanded it down until i was happy. Good 2hrs PITA project.

Glad you got it fixed, still wondering if my fix would've worked. May try on mine to see.
