It's been years since I've been on this forum.
Glad to be back. Years ago I spent time on here with my '64 Chevelle dubbed Sikness.

After the Chevelle, I purchased a GT-R which I knew nothing about at the time. I am now on my 3rd GT-R and its an absolute beast with 1500HP.

I now have a new project and want to introduce you to
Project "Torn"
In collaboration with my friends at Throttleworks (Boise, ID), we have set out to build one bad street truck. With the ultimate goal of competing in the OUSCI in Vegas during SEMA 2016, we will demand many things from Torn. Built on a custom C5 chassis, Torn will have various needs. I love drag racing, 1/2 mile racing, and road racing. Sounds impossible (and maybe it is), but we plan for Torn to be superior on the road and Auto-X course
We are having great luck with sponsorships, but still looking for many more (brakes, suspension, interior, seats, etc). Still finalizing motor details but at this point looks like a TT LsX.
Here she is:

Cool. How much did you have to take out of the front aluminum crossmember? I'm looking forward to seeing this truck progress.

Cool build. I'm looking forward to seeing another full built P/U competing. - check the OUSCI rules. you will have to run in GTV, which has a 3200 lb. minimum weight. Keep that in mind during the build. Good luck.

Yep planning GTV and therefore packing on weight! Lots of protein;)
Interestingly (I didn't know this) but the Invitational in Vegas does not recognize classes. I didn't know that.

Some ideas we originally tossed around:

Throttleworks started Fab. Originally we had round tubing for rear chassis. However it was decided that square framing would provide better foundation for our needs

Awesome. Really like your GTR as well. I'd keep it if I were you. Destined to become a latter day classic.

Love the build and the renderings! Have to say I am partial to the yellow accents

Thanks. I settled on the red as shown in the large rendering up top (in the lot). Several reasons but mostly it's more period correct with the P51 theme that we are mimicking.
We are to the point now I've got to decide what suspension and brake components well use.
