I am reading the installation instructions on which rubber/poly mounts are required to complete the installation for the motor and trans mounts for the 69 Camaro.

Holley recommends the Anchor clamshell rubber mount PN 2292 for the motor mount, and Prothane 7-1604 for the transmission.

The Holley Tech line could not make a recommendation for an equivalent polyurethane motor mount, and I haven't gotten a call back from Prothane.

It seems that if I want to use a poly motor mount, I need to order the Anchor brand clam shells, drill out the rivets, and then change out the rubber insert with the Prothane 7-506-BL poly insert.

Maybe I am missing a reason why, but it seems odd not to use the same material for both mounts. Is there any reason why I shouldn't go with a poly motor mount, and stick with the factory rubber mount?

What have you folks been using for a motor mount?

You have it right on the motor mounts Corey, to use the poly inserts you need to buy the 2292 rubber mounts to acquire the metal frames you need to install then in. You can order the Prothane inserts for a 1973 Camaro with a SB Chevy to keep it simple. Using the stock rubber motor mounts will transmit less vibration through the chassis, but they are far less durable than the poly inserts.
