I'm trying to work on a budget for the swap.
So from buying the engine and tranny, to all the necessary electronics, mounts, exhaust, and drive shaft what am I realistically looking at? I'm totally ok with a used engine up to about 100k miles.

Edit.
I'd really like this to become the budget / methods thread.

I know one option you have different engine placement, and you have to go rack and pinion.

Budget around $5000 if you are a good shopper and can do all the work yourself.
Budget around $10,000 if you buy things at retail, and have to pay someone to do the work.

Add another $7500 to Tony's budget and you can have a magnacharger and all the assorted pieces it requires too. :look:

is that including the steering fixes, and oil pan, and wiring, what not?

does not include any parts not directly attached to the engine.

if you shop hard and do all your own work you may get out for $5000

engine/tranny/harness/ecm $2800
read the FAQ thread on ls1tech.com in the conversion thread for pinouts, motor mounts, oil pan issues, ETC.
exhaust can be $100-1000 depending on what you want to do.
Fuel system is going to be about $100-1000 depending on what you want to do.
then a dyno/computer tune $500

do a serch for my user name on ls1tech and you will see my budget approach
