View Full Version : Keeping vintage air ducts in place without slipping off...any ideas?

I have the dash off my 71 camaro right now putting the PCM inside the passenger side. I figure I would go ahead and address the ductwork to my vintage air system. The ducts are supposed to slip over the ends of the adapters and evaporator box and held in by the barbs on the ends correct?

I'm trying that, but I am not getting a tight grab and the ducts are coming off. Are there any clamps or something available that will let me put a good bite on the ducts so they form a tight and stay put?

I thought about duct tape, but once I put the dash in place, it's hard to get to the areas I need to tape up. I thought about generic hose clamps, seems like that would work and I can get inside the tight confines with a nut driver to tighten down.

Just curious what others have done?

thanks guys, didn't think of that...I'll check with lowes and see if they have any extra long ones.
