Hey guys. On my 68 camaro i've already got hotchkis 2" lowering coils but the front still needs to come down about 1-2 more inches. what would be the best way to do this? I was thinking about drop spindles but i've heard quite abit of negatives from them. Any help would be great. Thanks

cutting the coils is always an option.....one half of a coil will drop it about 1.5 inches

I 2nd that Cut them. Cheap and very effective. Thats what I did. :)
The first cut wont drop the car much. Its the cut after that you have to watch.
I've got a pair of springs that will put you on the snubbers...I wouldnt take more than 1.5 coils out, if they are "new". If they are old, saggin' already, etc....start with 1 full turn cut off.
Dont use a torch, or say goodbye to them completely.

I'd go a half turn at a time... call it experience. yes, cut off wheel!

thanks guys. appreciate all the input!! So the concensus is take about 1/2 a coil out to start with and that should get me down about 1.5"??

This might not always be correct. I cut a coil and a half off and the car barely lowered at all. Keep in mind your first cut is generally the compressed end and will not lower the car much. HOWEVER the cut after that is the scary one. Go only a half coil at a time once you do your first cut. Its just better to cut too little than too much. Yes cut off wheel on a grinder works perfect.

I have actually seen people cut the bottom at a half coil at a time without removing the spindle etc etc! :dunno:
But I don't reccomend that haha I always cut from the bottom but it does not matter at all.
